In light of things ecumenical, this interview with Dr. Christopher Malloy on the Joint Declaration presents some of the Roman Catholic side of disagreements over this document (see some of the Lutheran disagreements raised by Lee in this comment). Dr. Malloy consistently raises the important MacIntyrean-inspired point: Which Lutheranism? Much of Dr. Malloy’s discussion centres around arguments put forth in his book Engrafted Into Christ: A Critique of the Joint Declaration. [Nod: la nouvelle théologie]

A very good post by Gabriel Alkon entitled “Who Are The Poor?” I met Gabe in Granada last year — a really great guy. He presented on Emerson and Blondel, but sadly, I missed his session because it ran parallel to mine.

Lastly, see Charlie Pardue’s post on Spider-Man 3, especially the ensuing conversation in the comments. I missed the unfolding drama of the conversation when it actually happened because I tend to refuse to read reviews of movies before I have seen them.  But, now that I have seen it, the conversation that took place mainly between Kaz and Charlie is a really interesting one on the relationship between Christianity and art. I actually wrote a comment more than a week ago that is still in an approval queue, but considering Charlie’s been on his honeymoon, I’ll let this one slide until he gets back from Ireland.

And now, I am off to see my new niece!
